Postdoctoral degree in legal sciences; assistant professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (WPiA UW), member of the Studies and Analyses Office of the Supreme Court, legal advisor.
The wide range of scientific interests covers the issues of civil and constitutional procedural law, as well as the practice of the distribution of justice, with particular emphasis placed on the practical aspects of applying civil procedural law and comparative procedural law.
As part of his didactic work at the University of Warsaw, dr hab. Piotr Rylski conducts classes in civil proceedings, specialization lectures on non-litigious proceedings and European civil proceedings, as well as a lecture for foreign students entitled “Introduction to Polish Civil Procedure”. As of 2018, supervisor of the "Legal Workshops" Students’ Scientific Association at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Polish Private Law website (http://polishprivatelaw.pl), responsible for the section on civil proceedings.
He cooperates closely with the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecutor's Office, running trainings and workshops for common court judges on civil proceedings.
Lecturer of the District Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw, where he conducts classes in international civil procedure and international trade.
In the years 2011–2015, member of the problem team of the Civil Law Codification Commission appointed for civil proceedings.
As of 2018, member of the Henri Capitant Association of Friends of the French Legal Culture (L’ Association Henri Capitant des amis de la culture juridique française).
In 2018, obtained a postdoctoral degree in legal sciences on the basis of the postdoctoral dissertation entitled "Participant in Non-Litigious Proceedings - Construction Issues". By the resolution of the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, the dissertation was considered outstanding.
In 2008, obtained a PhD degree in legal sciences awarded by the Scientific Board of the Institute of Civil Law of the University of Warsaw on the basis of the PhD dissertation entitled "Ex Officio Action of the Court in Determining the Actual Basis for a Civil Settlement" written under the scientific supervision of prof. dr hab. Tadeusz Ereciński. Reviewers of the dissertation were prof. dr hab. Maria Jędrzejewska (University of Warsaw) and prof. dr hab. Andrzej Marciniak (University of Lodz).
In 2005, obtained a master's degree in legal sciences at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (studied in the years 2000–2005 and completed the studies with distinction).
In 2006, obtained a diploma of introduction to French and European law (Certificat d’Introduction au Droit Francais et Européen) issued by the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the University of Poitiers.
In the years 2005–2008, completed judicial training at the District Court in Warsaw, and in 2008, passed the judicial exam at the Court of Appeal in Warsaw with the “very good” overall grade and result.
In 2010, awarded the title of legal advisor at the District Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw.
Research projects:
2006 – co-author: prof. dr hab. Karol Weitz, national report "European Civil Procedure: Study JLS / C4 / 2005/03 - Evaluation of Application of Regulation 44/2001 National Report - Poland" ordered by the European Commission with the aim of drafting the assumptions for the amendment of the Brussels I Regulation.
2008–2013 - scientific secretary and co-author of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s own research project entitled "European Civil Law and Conflict of Laws" ed. prof. dr hab. Karol Weitz; grant number NN 110 019638.
Foreign scholarships, research internships and law schools:
September 2004 - research internship at the University of Caen (France);
March-July 2007 - research scholarship at the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva (Université de Genève).
July 2014 - clerk and participant of the Post-Doctoral Summer School on European and Comparative Procedural Law held by the Max Planck Institute Luxemburg and the International Association of Procedural Law (Luxemburg).
May 2018 - lecturer in civil proceedings as part of the Polish Law School at the University of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev.
