Isabelle Rorive is professor at the Law Faculty and at the Institute for European Studies of the ULB (Université libre de Bruxelles) where she teaches comparative law, non-discrimination law, legal methods and contemporary issues in mobilising fundamental rights. Since September 2012, Isabelle Rorive is the director of the Perelman Centre for Legal Philosophy. Her research focuses on theoretical and practical developments of the right to equality and non-discrimination, the migration of legal concepts between common law and civil law systems, the imprint of legal cultures on the development of law and judicial reasoning, and the human rights issues raised by the management of cultural pluralism. As a member of the European Equality Law Network and the Berkeley Comparative Anti-Discrimination Law Study Group Isabelle Rorive pursues many of her research projects in a European or international setting. Recently, she participated in the launching of the Equality Law Clinic (ELC) in the framework of the Human Rights Integration project that she coordinates with Emmanuelle Bribosia at the ULB.
